🟠 Vacancy: Madapalli Priest

Liverpool Ganesh Temple is seeking one experienced Madapalli Priest to support the Temple's religious activities and the preparation of food offerings used in Hindu religious ceremonies.

The successful applicant will have practical experience in a Hindu Temple Madapalli (sacred Temple kitchen) and knowledge of traditional Hindu religious food preparation, naivedyam, prasadam and the religious procedures associated with preparing offerings for deities.

🟡 Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Madapalli Priest will:

• Prepare traditional food offerings (Naivedyam) for Hindu deities in accordance with Temple traditions.

• Prepare Prasadam for distribution to worshippers following religious ceremonies.

• Follow the Temple's established religious procedures for the preparation and handling of offerings.

• Prepare food required for daily poojas, abhishekam, festivals and special religious ceremonies.

• Work closely with priests to ensure that required offerings are prepared at the appropriate times.

• Maintain the Madapalli and food preparation areas in a clean and orderly condition.

• Ensure religious food items and utensils are handled appropriately according to Temple practices.

• Assist with the preparation of additional offerings during major Hindu festivals and special occasions.

• Maintain and care for traditional Temple kitchen utensils and equipment.

• Follow appropriate food hygiene and safety requirements.

• Support priests and other Temple personnel during major religious events.

• Help preserve traditional Hindu Temple food preparation practices.

• Undertake other reasonable religious duties connected with the Madapalli and Temple's religious activities.

🟡 Essential Requirements

• Previous practical experience as a Madapalli Priest or in a Hindu Temple Madapalli.

• Experience preparing traditional Hindu religious food offerings.

• Knowledge of Naivedyam and Prasadam preparation and religious procedures.

• Understanding of Hindu Temple customs and religious practices.

• Experience preparing offerings for daily poojas and Hindu religious ceremonies.

• Ability to follow traditional religious procedures carefully and consistently.

• Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

• Experience working alongside priests and Temple personnel.

• Good reliability, discipline and attention to detail.

• Commitment to maintaining traditional Hindu religious practices.

• Willingness to work weekends, evenings and during Hindu religious festivals.

🟡 Desirable Experience

• Previous experience working in a Hindu Temple Madapalli.

• Experience preparing offerings for major Hindu festivals.

• Knowledge of traditional Hindu religious food preparation.

• Experience working alongside priests during daily and special ceremonies.

• Knowledge of traditional Temple customs relating to food offerings and Prasadam.

Position: Madapalli Priest – Religious Worker
Number of vacancies: 1
Employment type: Temporary
Hours: 35 hours per week

Working pattern: Full-time, with flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, evenings and during religious festivals according to the Temple's religious calendar and operational requirements.

Location: Liverpool Ganesh Temple, Delfby Crescent, Kirkby, Liverpool, L32 8TN

Salary: £12.71 per hour
